On 25 May, Ruta del Cacao participated in the “Calles de Solidaridad” (Solidarity Streets) event organized by the Santander Responsible Network in Bucaramanga.
The project consisted of mobilizing citizen participation to help in the social integration of displaced people from Venezuela.
Participation consisted of modifying the exclusionary discourse towards these vulnerable people and developing networks of cooperation with segments that play a fundamental role in integrating people.
The event was held at Luis Carlos Galán Civic Plaza. There, the volunteers attended to a total of 154 people (14 women, 17 children and 123 men) who received humanitarian assistance, medical and dental care, and support in safety and hygiene.
Participating organizations included the Colombian Red Cross, the Santander Responsible and Sustainable Network, the Industrial University of Santander School of Industrial and Business Studies and the Jaime Andrés Foundation.
